  • Program notes: 

    Yangzhuoyong Cuo, a chamber work commissioned by Nouvel Ensemble Contemperain from Switzerland and the 211 Chamber Music Promotion Project of Central Conservatory of Music, was composed by Xiaogang Ye in April, 2010. Thise work is regarded as one of Xiaogang Ye’s “Nine Sacred Lakes Series of Tibet” and has been premiered in Switzerland and Beijing in May, 2010.
    Yangzhuoyong Cuo, together with Basongcuo, Lamulacuo, Namucuo, Mapangyong Cuo, La’angcuo, Bansongcuo, Selincuo, and Dangruoyong Cuo, belongs to the Nine Sacred Lakes of Tibet. The lake is 4,441 meters above sea level with unique beautiful scenery, and you could encounter local people there falling down in adoration before the lake.
    The composer has been the lake for twice to experience its silent and mystical beauty, and hence composing with the theme of the lake.
