Notes

  • Program notes:

I composed the work Razor for solo violin at suggestion of the violinist Milan Paľa. He is an inspiring musician who in the past years recorded almost complete violin solo works by Slovak composers. The title Razor is a metaphor for sharpness, delicacy of nuances, the autonomy and position of the violin soloist in the music history. It consists of three parts. It’s not a romantic musical setting of the shaving equipment. It’s rather the uncompromising ability to create “cuts”in the form and at the same time stay on the edge of the fine nuances and the rough sharpness.
