Notes

  • Program notes:

For me, 'Circles' have multiple symbolism. Moving around in a circular motion, again and again we return to the starting point ... by adding the third dimension we begin to move spirally (...) a series of events and relationships in our lives remind me of such developments. I tried to 'translate' some of these considerations into the musical language - that of intervals, harmonic structure and movement, form and other methods used in this composition. (Tibor Szirovicza).

'In Circles' for string quartett is one stave composition dedicated to Serbian TAJJ Quartett written in 2014. The symbolism of circles was used by the composer in creating specific harmonic and polyhonic structures within the composition. This short string quartett was inspired by the works of Alfred Schnittke. Composition was first performed at Music Tribune in Opatija in 2014.
