Notes

  • Program notes:

Historien om en prinsessa/The Princess’ Tale
The Princess’ Tale is a sequel to Stravinsky’s The Soldier’s Tale, and it takes up where Stravinsky/Ramuz’s story left off. But in this work it is the Princess who has the leading role. The instrumentation is the same as in Stravinsky’s work, and there are musical allusions here to jazz, chorales, Argentian tango, a waltz in simultaneous duple and triple time and other surprising features.
Historien om en prinsessa/The Princess’ Tale is available in both a Swedish and an English version.

  • Technical specs:

A Pricess Tale needs 1 Reciter (female) The Princess and 1 Actor (the devil)
