We were guided by the idea of freedom, of unstoppable development of materials and all musical genres we ran through. The idea of escape from labels and commecial conventions brought us to a name which exactly is a no-name project. We decided to name our project according to the day of the year on which we will perform just to point the uniquenes of each performance. Basically, this is electroacoustic work exploring noise, beats and feedbacks, field recordings, objects, conventional and unconvetional instruments in relation to architecture of the space. It's not rare that we perform „...day of the year“ including analog video in relation to our music like we did for 309th day of the year performed in Zagreb in 2015.
We are trying to develop our technics through sound approach we're into for several years which influences our performing attitude each time we play in a new space. There's not a high concept, it's more about creation of dramatic shapes with surprise elements. After playing together for more then 25 years we wanted to challenge ourselves into sound textures in the field of pure listening and interplay with a goal to create music that we don't expect.
When we will know the date of our next perfomance then we will name it after the day of the year on which it is going to happen. We expect it to sound different from the last one.
We were deeply inspired by „Four Quartets“ by T.S. Eliot, especially by this fragment:
“To arrive where you are, to get from where you are not,
You must go by a way wherein there is no ecstasy.
In order to arrive at what you do not know
You must go by a way which is the way of ignorance.
In order to possess what you do not possess
You must go by the way of dispossession.
In order to arrive at what you are not
You must go through the way in which you are not.
And what you do not know is the only thing you know
And what you own is what you do not own
And where you are is where you are not.”
