    As you can see through the title, the piece is built around two solid blocs. It is, however, a relative solidity, for an active and exuberant life animates all three sections of the piece. Monolithe is the fourth part of a research I have pursued since I wrote “Espace-Temps”, my piece for large orchestra. Here, the perception of time through the dialectic relationship between stillness and movement is central to the project.
