Notes

  • Program notes:

My musical conception is closely related to the way other arts face certain artistic issues. In this sense, a fact that attracted me in my recent works is the treatment of the sequence and the image that Tarkovsky employs in Solaris (1972).

Two of these artistic issues that have been premises in my latest compositions are the “image conceived as an idea or concept" and the forthcoming potentiality that an image could grasp after being observed”.

An image could be defined as the beginning of something elusive that not only grasps what is inherent to its most inmediate essence, to its stasis. From stillness, thoroughness, it is perceived how its inner rhythm confers a new dynamism and reveals a sharp, intense as well as a ephimeral new existence.

A mimesis between concepts of “sound” and “image” could reflect how the distorted nature of sound develops along antagonistic expressions of its essence a sort of “dialectic of sameness”, whose narrative, projects itself abruptly -contrary to the desire of sublimation on the continuity- in a new shifting space.
