  • Program notes:

Comme un seul homme, for one percussionist
This piece is based upon a sentence that Gustav Mahler wrote in a letter to his friend Fritz Löhr. The percussionist has to use his voice in many different ways, and accompanies himself with very simple objects (stones, plastic bags, rattle etc.). I tried to create a distant echo to the deep anxiety of Mahler’s sentence. This piece is dedicated to Alexandre Esperet who premiered it in the Hermitage Theater of St Petersburg (Russia).
