    “LIES” Op. 60
    (for chamber orchestra)
    Composed, recorded and released in 2011. Conducted by the composer.
    The macro form of the piece is based on the Fibonacci Sequence. Therefore different motifs, themes, timbral characteristics and changes of tempo come up on measures 1-2-3-5-8-13-21-34-55-89-144 (indicated on the score).
    For the micro form, I used important numbers of the Inca cosmology: 3-5-7-9-10-15. These numbers generated the phrases and semi-phrases.
    The pitches come up mainly from two series:
    1) The one of the first chord: F-A-B-D#
    2) It comes up complete for the first time in the main theme of the bass trombone: G-Bb-F#-C#-Eb-Ab.
    The piece is characterized by the use of extreme registers, extended techniques, irregular values, changes of measure, improvisations and independent tempi.
    Polyphony is predominant, although on measure 144 there is an homophonic choral.
    On measure 116 it appears a non-textual extract to Stravinsky.
    On measure 137, there is a re-exposition, without the main theme.
