    Palpitations – for symphony orchestra (Programme notes)
    The work is based on two models of the catastrophe theory (mathematics): the "cusp"
    and the "butterfly" catastrophe. These models describe behaviors that have many
    states of balance. Taken as a non-temporal phenomenon, such a behavior can be
    translated in the simultaneous presence of more than one states.
    This is the main idea of the rhythmic construction of this work, which results to
    musical moments of a unified pulse opposed to other ones of different simultaneous
    pulses ("palpitations"). In this musical construction, imaginary landscapes of
    simultaneous births of many different beings are the main source of inspiration.
