Notes

  • Program notes:

Ad infinitum was my first work in which I used electronics. It was commissioned by violinist Maria Puusaari. When I started composing the piece, it was obvious to me that about half of the electronic sounds must come from Maria's own violin, because I wanted to make especially the beginning of the piece sound like a quartet for a violinist and three virtual violinists. The rest of electric sounds are computer-generated ones and also recorded sounds. One of my favourite sounds came from excavator.

  • Technical specs:

Four loudspeakers are in the hall like in the file "README.pdf". Also the violin is amplified. The sound of violin comes out of all 4 loudspeakers.
