Notes

  • Program notes:

In the past years I was intensively studying György Ligeti’s music, which had a great impact on me. My four-movement piano trio reflects this influence without directly drawing on Ligeti works. Both the opening movement and the finale are a kind of perpetuum mobile evolving from a central tone or dyad like a fan. The second movement that follows the first attacca is a kind of scherzo characterized by canonic structures and sharp contrasts of dynamics and texture. In the focus of the Trio is Movement III, in which the cold shimmering of the two strings’ natural harmonics frames a lament that becomes more and more passionate.
