This piece for solo piano set up as a research laboratory and prospect of Romanian ancestral folklore.
The two sections -Parlando and rubato -reflects the reality of improvasition and very strict ,in fact the essence of a Doina(song in which you express the sadness or the joy or the mourning ) and the Christmas Carols .
Specific Romanian folklore is alternated between improvisation and rigor, precision of the melody and the rythm.
I started to worry about this interesting duality between precise and improvisation many years in front .The result of this research was a cycle of pieces for the chamber ensemble and the piece MELISME is part of..MELISME means different embroidery and differentiated sound around a single note.
This piece is dedicated to one of our best pianist, Mr Remus Manoleanu
