Notes

  • Program notes:

This composition for symphonic orchestra is the sixth piece of my celtic mythology-inspired music series.which unites chamber pieces for violin- piano, clarinet piano, vocal- piano,flute-and piano, trumpet-piano, basstrombone-piano and tuba-harp duo.
The piece is a symphonic poem in one part divided in to three section, using important motives from the chamber pieces.
Tree of Life , CRANN BETHADH was a connection to the world of the spirits and the ancestors, living entities, and doorways into other worlds.
Tree of life was the link between the human world and the world of the spirits. Crann Bethadh incorporates three worlds: deep, lower world of ocean, purgatory, in the middle of tree is a human world, where happened the war between the warrior Gods and people and upper is the world ofheavens, spirits and place of Gods who cares and helps people.
Their deep roots and high branches connected both the underworld and heavens to the earth as represented by the trunk. This connection enabled the Gods of both worlds to connect and communicate with people. The Tree of life symbol meants wisdom, strength, a long life and people regarded tree as living, magical beings.
The music makes it „visible” and audible the three different worlds of CRANN BETHADH!
