  • Program notes: 

    "Variation on an old Story" attempts to create music narrative that imitates cinematic drama.
    The composition includes 5 parts:
    1. "Chase scene", molto agitato quasi improvised part.
    2. "Deaf talk" between operator and distress women.
    3. "Echoes of the women thoughts", panic and intense violin part.
    4. "Shout from the dead" and the "clock scene" that ends the sad scenario.
    5. "Counterclaim in the dark"
    The score includes: Soundtrack, 2 (or 4) pre-recorded channels, Violin part and Max/msp real-time effects. The notation of electroacoustic part is focusing on most important sounds which can be helpful for synchronization.

    1. Stage setup Includes: 2 dynamic microphones on adjustable stand (type: Shure SM57) for the violin and vocal effect,
    2. 2 main front loudspeakers with 2 associated sub loudspeakers. Optional 4 surround loudspeakers on stands for surround sound diffusion in the concert hall.
    3. 1 computer with Max/msp + professional sound interface.
    4. VIDEO SETUP: screen + video projector + jitter patch.
    5. Lights control.
