Notes

  • Program notes:

”2 Summer Songs” is a sonorous (double) apology of love that urges anyone to learn its subtle but all-powerful affective powers. ”Der Fliegende” expresses the particular mood of unnamed longing and feverish awaiting generated by the image of ‘Flying Eros’ (Zburător – a demon like half-god of early love in the Romanian archaic folk tradition) – a sort of escaping from reality into a delirious world, while in ”As Summer Rains” the time pulsation – sometimes rhythmical, attentively measured, other times over dimensioned – projects human feelings of love also as part of the big Nature, close to the cosmic vibrations… (Carmen Maria Cârneci)
