Notes

  • Program notes:

Mandala is an imaginary palace and symbols used by Buddhists to resist inner distracting thoughts in their practice. In modern society, people are always full of anxiety and struggle because of excessive materialization. We all need a pure land in our hearts to resist all kinds of temptations from the outside world.
The creation of the works is like the construction of a Mandala. I integrate the musical elements of Buddhist sacrifices into the timbre structure of the works until the six-character Buddhist motto "Ong, Ma, Nee, Bay, Mei, Hong " read out by the performers, there comes the climax of the work. Eventually the music gradually returned to calmness. All this is like the formation and disappearance of the Mandala. Material things will eventually disappear, and spiritual power will always exist in our hearts.
