Biography

Piet-Jan van Rossum (25/01/66) studied composition at the conservatory of Den Haag with Louis Andriessen, Jan Boerman and Dick Raaymakers.
His lifelong interest in theology leads him to monasteries once in a while, making the uninmaginable and the unseen regular subjects in his work.
Next to 105 compositions he wrote 4 small books and made 1 movie.
His works are being played all over the world.
His music for the music-theatre work 3ACH won the 2020 prize for best music at the Shanghai NOW festival.
Van Rossum lives partly in the Netherlands, partly in Japan.
