Biography

Martin Svensson (1978) started playing the guitar at the age of 10, playing pop and rock music. During the years in high school he grew an interest for classical music and writing music rather than performing, much thanks to film music and learning about the composers that inspired them in the first place. Later he went on to study composition at the university and finished his Master degree in 2007 after studies with Luca Francesconi, Rolf Martinsson and Kent Olofsson. Since then he’s been freelancing as a composer, arranger, musician, songwriter alongside with teaching music production and theory at a music program in senior high school. Much of his contemporary work is focused on chamber music in the but he has also composed for orchestras, and often include some sort of electronics in the pieces.
