Biography

Jarosław Siwiński (b. 1964) has graduated from the Music Academy in Warsaw, where he has studied piano with Kazimierz Gierżod and composition with Włodzimierz Kotoński. He also participated in many composition workshops, as well as contemporary music festivals. He has held scholarships from the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the City of Warsaw, and Society of Authors – ZAiKS.
He has cooperated notably with Eugeniusz Rudnik, Fryderyk Rzewski, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Orkest de ereprijs, the Viktor Lois/Yin Peet duo, Azorro Group, Bang on a Can group (New York) and Forbidden City Chamber Orchestra (Beijing). He has authored music for animated films, theatre and computer games. He has a long-standing partnership with the Children’s Arts Centre in Poznań, for which he has composed over a dozen works, often actively involving the audience. From 2016 Jarosław Siwiński is the art director of the Warsaw Music Encounters festival.
