Biography

Daniel Nelson (b. 1965) is best known for his orchestral music, with its exuberant energy. He has worked with orchestras around the world. Works that have extracted great attention include his tuba concerto Metallëphônic, the concert opener Steampunk Blizzard, his opera Pride and Prejudice for the Vadstena-Academy, and the ballet The Little Prince for Norrdans. In 2015, Daniel Nelson received the Carin Malmlöf-Forssling Prize from the Royal Swedish Academy of Music. 2021 will see the premiere of his Chaplin Songs, for soprano, mixed choir and orchestra, with the Swedish Radio SO and Choir.
