Krimitza, Vasiliki 




Vasiliki Krimitza was born in 1989 in Athens. She studied composition with Adriana Hölszky, Wolfgang Rihm and Tristan Murail in Austria and Germany. She is currently a PhD candidate in music composition at the New York University, GSAS.
Her works have been performed in concerts in USA, Austria, Germany, France, Italy, Greece, Albania, by the Talea ensemble, ICE ensemble, Los Angeles Percussion Quartet, ensemble OENM, ensemble Phorminx, members of the Bavarian Opera Orchestra and have been broadcasted by BR Klassik (DE) and ORF (AUT). She has been invited to talk about her music in USA, Germany, France and Austria. She has been winner and finalist of many composition competitions and awards including “Dimitris Dragatakis 2014” Athens, “Franz Liszt Scholarship 2014” Weimar, “Musikstipendium 2015” Munich, “Next Wave LAPQ 2016”, Los Angeles, “MacCracken fellowship 2016-2021” New York, “League of composers/ISCM 2017” New York. She got commissions for new works from the Salzburg Museum, City of Munich, FSMA Strasbourg, Hofhaymer Gesellschaft Salzburg, Aspekte Festival Salzburg, Dialoge Festival Salzburg, IMPULS Festival Sachsen Anhalt, Los Angeles Percussion Quartet.
