Hasnas, Irina 




Irina Hasnas studied in Bucharest at the Academy of Music “Ciprian Porumbescu” (1973 -1978) at the Composition Department with AUREL STROE, STEFAN NICULESCU, ALEXANDRU PASCANU, NICOLAE BELOIU – all composers belonging to the generation who founded the idea of the national musical school in the Romanian and international cultural space.
After graduating the Academy she had the opportunity to continue her studies under the coach of the composer Theodor Grigoriu during some monthly meeting under the auspices of the Romanian Union of Composer (1978 – 1980 ).
In 1977 she presented as the work for diploma’s, the ballet piece “METHAMORPHOSE” for vocal and instrumental ensemble. The first performance took place in Bucharest, in the Little Palace Hall in June 1978, conductor Rasvan Cernat, choreographer Sergiu Anghel.
Her master work was "CONCERTO FOR ORCHESTRA" performed in June 1978 by the members of the Orchestra of the Academy of Music, conductor Rasvan Cernat.
In 2000 she received her doctoral title at the Academy of Music in Cluj-Napoca .The title of the study was – “Fundamental options in the works of Theodor Grigoriu and Pascal Bentoiu. Fifty years of achievements in the Romanian Musical School.” under the guiding of the composer and professor the member of the Romanian Academy CORNEL TARANU.
Irina Hasnas is editor in the Romanian National Radio since 1987, but she is collaborating with the Radio since 1984. Some of the Musical Departments in which she worked and she coordinated (Creation-Recordings, Musical News, International Musical Exchanges and Opera) gave her the opportunity to know the trends of the contemporary musical phenomena national and international.
In her first works, Dr. Irina Hasnas try to define the concept of infinite melody revealing a harmonic universe as a result of the interfering of the define tunes.
In the next works she focalized her attention on the Romanian melodic Ethos , on the concept of the musical text wishing to included it in the aria of kind of the Romanian spirituality.
Her main field of research is the chamber music because this one is more closed to her artistic sensibility.
