Deutsch, Bernd Richard 




Bernd Richard Deutsch, a graduate of the University of Music in Vienna, studied composition with Erich Urbanner, Boguslaw Schaeffer and Manuel Hidalgo.
He has been awarded many international prizes, such as the Paul Hindemith-Prize 2014, the Erste Bank Composition Award 2013, the 2nd prize in the Toru Takemitsu Composition Award 2011 and the Paul Lowin Prize 2015.
Deutsch has been invited by the most important festivals of contemporary music and perfomed by orchestras and ensembles such as RSO Wien, RSO Stuttgart, Philharmonia Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, New World Symphony, Klangforum Wien, Arditti Quartet, GrauSchumacher Piano Duo, and particularly at the Stuttgart Liederhalle, Berlin Konzerthaus, Tokyo Opera City, Vienna Konzerthaus. His organ concerto “Okeanos” was premiered recently at the Vienna Musikverein under the baton of Stefan Asbury. Among his cooperations with soloists and conductors were projects with Marino Formenti, HK Gruber, Johannes Kalitzke, Manfred Honeck, Ernesto Molinari, Enno Poppe, Andrés Orozco-Estrada and Kazuki Yamada.
