Biography

Born in Greece (1976), Spiros Deligiannopoulos is a faculty member of Ionian University (Greece), where he teaches Music Theory and Piano. He holds a Phd in Composition and a B.A.Hons in Musicology, (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki), a Master in Composition (Goldsmiths College – University of London) a Soloist Piano Diploma of “outstanding distinction” and degrees (grades 10/10) to harmony, counterpoint and fugue (Contemporary Conservatory of Thessaloniki). He has attended the Summer Courses of Darmstadt, working with Bryan Ferneyhough, Pierluigi Billone and Georges Aperghis. He writes mainly for chamber ensembles, focusing on timbral issues and usually asking for extended virtuosity
