  • Please describe your organization’s activities over the past year, including concerts, commissions, collaborations, publications: 

    2020 The 48th PAN Music Festival was held on 5th November and 9th November to 13th November during 6 days in Seoul.

    Due to the social distancing of COVID-19, overseas invited ensemble groups were not able to visit this festival, and the entire festival was organized only with Korean ensemble groups.
    The each concerts consisted of programs selected members works by the ISCM Korea section commitee by 'call for score' and works by overseas composers.

    In addition, his works in commemoration of Honorary Chairman Sukhi Kang , who passed away on August 16, 2020, were performed at each concert, and his commemorative video was also aired.
    During the festival, the work of "Buru", one of his representative works, was represented by a traditional Korean instrument and Korean traditional singer(Gagok), and introduced in a new form by adding electronic music processing in real-time.

    Each festival has a theme for each concert.
    A theme for each concert were, Sooyeon LIM Piano & electronics < Color Explosion >, Ensenble Eins < Sound Texture & Composition Concert >, Ensemble Geori < Tradition in the Present>, Ensemble TIMF < Young Composers Workshop>, Ensemble TIMF < Expanded Tonality>, Ensemble Geori < Experimental & New Media>.
    The last day of the 48th PAN Music Festival was a time to suddenly we experienced with the COVID-19 pandemics and then we rethinked about nature and the environment. An improvisation environment music concert on the themes of human social relations, human-environment relations, and nature relations. "Landscape" was planned. This improvisation environment music "Landscape" performance was planned as a performance by the ensemble "Geori" harmoniously composed of Korean traditional instruments and Western classical instruments. the resulted in a meaningful and successful music festival that was more environmentally conscious and attempted to communicate and approach socially in the COVID-19 pandemics Era.
    Also, starting from this 2020 PAN Music Festival, 'Contemporary Culture Art Group' has been participating as a partner of ISCM Korea.
