Annual Report

  • Year:
  • Please describe your organization’s activities over the past year, including concerts, commissions, collaborations, publications:

The Faroese ensemble Aldubáran has been central to the development of Faroese new music in general and building up festival Summartónar. The musicians who formed the group in 1995 had all been active in the previous festivals and their individual contributions made the very first Summartónar possible. Members of Aldubáran are featured on the front cover of this year’s programme.
Covid19 made visits from abroad impossible from March 2020. However circumstances in the Faroe Islands made concerts possible for up to 100 in the audience, so the already published program from February was adjusted to involve only local musicians. We organised through the year more than 200 concerts including several of the originally planned.
