  • Please describe your organization’s activities over the past year, including concerts, commissions, collaborations, publications: 

    * Publication of a longread article on contemporary Flemish choir music by journalist Rudy Tambuyser, on the occasion of the performance of Blossomings by Wim Henderickx during the World Music Days in Tallinn, Estonia. The article was published in Dutch and in English as a part of the online series Let me be your guide of Flanders Arts Institute. Link
    Prior to the publication, with reached out to choir enthusiasts, both professionals and amateurs, and asked them to nominate recent choir music for inclusion in the article and the accompanying playlist.

    * Call for Works & submission of six compositions for the Call for Works for the World Music Days 2020. The jury consisted of Michael Maierhof, Ine Vanoeveren and Wim Pelgrims.

    * Preparation of the 2nd edition of the Belgian Music Days (4 to 7 March 2020) & application for support with the ISCM Collaborative Event Fund (granted)

    * Sector meeting (11 September) on the topic of audience development: Creating our own weather: Exposure & Intrinsic Impact. Speaker: David Pay (Music on Main, Vancouver, Canada). In collaboration with Flanders Arts Institute and Concertgebouw Bruges.

    * Meeting of the steering group, call for new steering group members

    * Regular newsletters (6), with a strong focus on ISCM-related news and announcements of events that are relevant to both composers, performers and presenters, e.g. the concerts in celebration of composer Luc Brewaeys (1959-2015) and the first annual festival on Belgian electro-acoustic music.
