2019_ISCM - CHINESE TAIPEI SECTION

Annual Report

  • Year:
  • Please describe your organization’s activities over the past year, including concerts, commissions, collaborations, publications:

In 2019, ISCM-TW hosted the 6th Taipei International New Music Festival with two concerts on Oct 26 and 27. The program were developed by our performer members, a different approach from the usual composer-initiative of program planning. We also commissioned two works to perform in the concerts.

We also attended the 2019 WMD in Tallinn to demonstrate new music of Taiwan and to exchange ideas with our colleague members. We also expressed our thoughts again that the forced section name change happened in WMD 2018 was unacceptable. We gratefully had a meeting with the Executive Committee. As a result, we had temporarily accepted the title as ISCM-Chinese Taipei but looking forward to further discussion.
