"Future Music" was born because of necessity to actualize Lithuanian historical avant-garde and build the bridges between innovations of modern music pioneers and contemporary works, performance practices based on the latest technologies. Celebrating the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the ISCM Lithuanian Section as well as the 110th anniversary of its initiator, composer Jeronimas Kacinskas, it was decided to initiate the world premier of composer's microtonal trio which was recently discovered in the Czech music archives. As a result of the cooperation of Lithuanian Composer's Union, Lithuanian Section of the ISCM, Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre Innovation Study Centre, Sibelius Academy of Music, MikroEnsemble (Helsinki), the cycle of concerts, workshops and lectures, dedicated to the historical and new microtonal compositions and performance practices were organised in Vilnius.
