  • Please describe your organization’s activities over the past year, including concerts, commissions, collaborations, publications: 

    The 2017 Beijing Modern Music Festival (BMMF) is a national-level music festival supported by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Culture of China, and sponsored by the Central Conservatory of Music (CCOM). It will be held from May 21 to 27, 2017. In the 14-years since its foundation, the BMMF has come to be regarded not only as an influential modern music event in China, but as one of the most important modern music festivals in the world, with its own distinct features. BMMF is committed to disseminating modern music, promoting international artistic and cultural communication, and to building a platform for young musicians. In previous years, BMMF has organized almost 400 concerts and nearly 100 lectures and master classes, and it has also published a large number of academic books, scores, and audio and video discs. BMMF was founded by Artistic Director Professor Xiaogang Ye and Music Director Yongyan Hu with the mission of promoting the adventurous spirit of modern music. While maintaining a high academic standard, it seeks to integrate art and society, ensuring that new music can have a widespread impact. BMMF 2017 will involve a series of international activities including the Fine Works Concert,and academic exchanges.
