Annual Report

  • Year:
  • Please describe your organization’s activities over the past year, including concerts, commissions, collaborations, publications:

In 2015 the focus of ISCM-Vlaanderen was directed towards the realization of the new project HEAR & NOW – Week van de de Nieuwe Geluiden (Week of the New Sounds), which was planned for the first time in March 2016. This would have been a 10-day festival throughout Flanders to celebrate new music in all its forms with concerts, workshops, debates, etcetera. To organize this festival not only members of ISCM-Vlaanderen were to be solicited, but all parties involved in music and musical education in Flanders.
To realize this festival ISCM-Vlaanderen applied for a subsidy from the Flemish Community (in February 2015). On 24th July ISCM-Vlaanderen received the news that the Flemish Community would not fund the project in any way. As ISCM-Vlaanderen needed the funding form the Flemish Community to be able to coordinate the project it was cancelled after consulting the main partners.

In June 2015 the call for works for World New Music Days in Tongyeong was organized (see below). The jury selected 4 works out of 11 submitted works.

ISCM-Vlaanderen also participated in the application of a new EU project together with the partners of the previous New Aud project. (see below).
